Excellence Run 2011

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned the Excellence Run in our Forum. Pierre Corthay and the Groupe Edmond de Rothschild organized this event which took place from July 10-14, 2011.

This Excellence Run lead the 21 participants and collectors of exceptional of vintage cars, such as Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder, Aston Martin DB4 Convertible, Mercedes 300SL Gullwing or the Ferrari 20 MM from Megève in France to Stresa. On the 900km route along the Lago Maggiore and places like Gstaad and Lucerne. Initially, the roud trip started with a gala dinner at the “Le 1920″ restaurant in Megève’s Chalet du Mont d’Arbois. Along the way, they visited an old school Swiss Gruyère cheese maker at the Ferme de la Neuvaz Farm in Blonay, instrument maker Luc Breton in Morges (Vaud, Switzerland), belt maker and designer Roland Iten in Lausanne, cuckoo-clock maker Loestcher in Brienz, Switzerland, carpenter François Staub from Lausanne who manufactueres special furniture with hidden compartments from luxurious woods. and last but not least the chocolatiers Grandazzi from the Officina del Cioccolato in Domodossola.

Altogether, it seems like they had a fun time at the first Excellence Run!
