Pininfarina Cars
After I introduced you to Sergio Pininfarina and his design company yesterday, I will present to you a few cars who were designed by this world renowned car stylist.
The very first body, Farina designed was the Lancia Dilambdia in 1931.
In 1933, the successor Lancia Astura looked very elegant and had a distinct Gatsby look.
The Cisitalia 202 revolutionized sports car design because everything was part of the overall look and streamlined.
In 1957, the Ferrari 250 GT Coupé was developed.
With increasing fame, Sergio Pininfarina was also hired for project in England and the US. Among other things, we designed the Chevrolet Corvette Rondine in 1962, which never made it to the car dealers. This is probably one of the reasons, why collectors pay top dollar nowadays to get their hand on one.
The Ferrari Dino was supposed to be a entry level, mid engine rear-drive sportscar that was fully designed by Sergio and soon it became so popular, that the Dino line was reimplemented into Ferrari.
While, the Ferraris are certainly attractive cars, Pininfarina also designed cars for the mass market such aus Fiat, Peugeot or Alfa Romeo etc. Moreover, Sergio designed protoypes that were focused on green driving back in the 1970′s.
Interestingly, they also designed one off models of stock cars, such as the Rolls Royce Hyperion.
To find out more about all car projects from the company, you should take a look at the Pininfarina Museum website.
