We may call it Savoir Vivre at the Gentleman’s Gazette, but sometimes Dolce Vita gets fairly close to summarizing what we have had in mind when starting up this category. Davidoff invited us to join their press conference for the launch of the new Zino Platinum Z-Class Series
at the Monza race track in the north of Italy. The launch was part of the trade fair 100Vini, which showcased premium wine and spirits from the Italian distributor Meregalli and featured, among other iconic brand giants, Bollinger, Rothschild and Penfolds.
Davidoff Zino Platinum
The new addition to the Zino Platinum product line targets a younger customer group, and was designed for a faster, more contemporary smoke. It has already been launched in the US, but Italy is the first market outside the US to receive them. We have given the cigars a try, and will do so again soon to provide you with a full tasting report. Meanwhile, rest assured that we actually genuinely enjoyed this cigar. Hence, stay tuned for our upcoming series of articles covering legendary cigar visionary, Zino Davidoff, the 100th anniversary of the House of Davidoff, and their best product offerings.
At the show, we have also had the pleasure of meeting Hervé Augustin, President and CEO of Champagne Ayala. He was presenting the producer’s prestigious Brut Nature champagne, to which no dosage of sugar is added after the second fermentation, that serves as a perfect companion for a cigar – or oysters, fish and caviar. The Ayala brand is a kind of royalty among the champagne brands, having been established by a direct descendant of the King of Aragon some 350 years ago. We will feature Hervé and his outstanding products right in time for the Christmas season. Salute!
