In recent years shantung stripes have softened traditional stripe patterns and made them more suitable to wear with all kinds of casual garments and combinations. However, not many bow ties have been designed that way.
At Fort Belvedere, we always focus on quality and unique items. As such we designed exclusive two-tone Shantung stripe fabrics, which you will not find anywhere else. We made them into ties as well as bow ties.
The advantage of those unique shantung is that they pair with classic business outfits and casual combinations alike because the two-tone colors tie everything together.
1. Fabric. The shantung silk used for this tie has the typical shantung knobs that are so characteristic for the fabric. On top of that, we added a finer silk yarn in a similar yet contrasting color to the weave, which results in a beautiful rich two-tone look that changes with the light, without being shiny. It's very sophisticated, and you have to see it in person to really appreciate its beauty. It pairs perfectly well with a pair of two-tone shadow stripe socks in blue and red. While not quite a grenadine shantung this fabric has a magnificent texture.
Exclusively woven for Fort Belvedere in Italy on heirloom looms, this fabric has a wonderfully soft finish that is different from regular Shantung ties. You can rest assured that this fabric cannot be found anywhere else.
2. Classic Pattern Reinvented. While traditional club or university stripes are always associated with a certain institution, we made sure to create a stripe that has no other associations, so you can wear it with pride. We sized the stripes so wide that it can be worn not only with solids and patterns suits but also with striped suits and even tweeds.
3. Handmade & Adjustable. This bow tie is hand made and adjustable to your neck size and one size fits it all.
While this bow tie is business appropriate, it is definitely not your run-of-the-mill striped bow tie. With its subtle sheen and two-tone look, it pairs well with any business suit color.
On top of that, you can wear it with tweed, flannel, linen, worsted wool or a summer suit. Every bow tie wearer should have a blue, red and white striped bow tie in his closet, and while this tie has all the classic hallmarks of a striped tie, it is not your grandpa's tie. It pairs phenomenally with dark suits in navy, charcoal, and gray, but it also works with mid blues, dark reds, greens, khakis, browns, etc.
No matter if you wear a blazer, linen, worsted, flannel or tweed. This bow tie will work well and underlines your good taste paired with some dynamic because it is a classic with a modern twist.
