High quality knit ties are available in two relative varieties: soft ties have a more flexible, smooth feel and Cri de la Soie ("cry of the silk") ties have a stiffer, almost crunchy feel to the knit. Here, we are offering you the luxurious latter variety in a rich Pale Yellow. It takes a number of unique steps to create these superb knitted ties.
To create a one-of-a-kind Cri de La Soie tie, we source a special heavy silk yarn that is spun, dyed and customized in the Alps to harmonize specifically with a rare, 100-year-old knitting machine. The yarns are knitted flat in a painstakingly slow process that can only be directed by skilled craftsmen. Once the knitting process is complete, the knitted silk is sewn by hand down the center seam and individually applied to a wooden mold, where they remain for a few days to form the ideal shape. The top and bottom of the tie are sewn shut, labels are attached, and final tie is ready for wearing. Extensive quality control assures that each tie produced with a high attention to detail. On top of that, we use two different colors for this tie, which creates a twoßtone effect. Depending on the direction of the light, the tie will either appear more light blue or blue which is very sophisticated.
We're proud to offer such a unique, high-quality Cri de la Soie knit tie that is produced using traditional methods - and without a doubt, one will be a great addition to your wardrobe!
147cm by 7cm; 58" by 2 3/4"
For ideal results, we recommend using a four in hand knot for a knit tie - most other knots create a bulky result. Traditionally, knit silk ties have a casual character, but today formal dress codes have changed and you have more room to express your individual style. Consider a stiffer Cri de Soie tie for a crisper look and soft knit ties for more relaxed combinations.
This Cri de Soie silk tie will pair well with any type of dark suit no matter whether it is two piece or three piece. Because of its color always changes depending on the angle of the light, you get noticed without being pretentious.
For the same reason, it also pairs well with dark shetland, donegal or saxony tweed sportscoats, vests and suede shoes. A personal favorite is the combination with a with a navy chalk stripe suit, a vest and a light blue shirt.
Whenever you think about wearing a solid tie, this will be your go to tie because it is solid at times, and then it's not.
Since this variety of tie is a bit stiffer than most other knitted ties, you can pop up the tie knot slightly to create a more stylized look, similar to when you use a collar pin. Also, the changeant effect of the light blue and navy blue yarns is simply stunning.
If you love our solid knit navy tie, this two tone-light blue and navy knit tie will help you up your style. The shade of navy is not as dark because of the light blue, and when you see predominantly light blue, it is mellowed because of the navy blue, which makes it very debonair. Because of its two colors it works with any other color in menswear. No matter, whether you wear it in the summer with seersucker or in the winter with tweed, flannels or worsted, this is the perfect companion.
As with all neckwear, this tie should never be stored while knotted. Hanging storage will eventually cause the tie to stretch, so the qualities of this tie will be best preserved by storing them rolled, as seen in the picture, or flat.
This traditional silk knit tie will arrive in a heavy, classic Fort Belvedere gift box for you or your recipient to enjoy. Furthermore, consider saving the box for travel or storage of your purchase.
